Verdant Zen Brew is the green one. If you like the smell of a garden in the morning before anyone has been in it, this is that.
It opens on bright citrus with a hint of spice behind it, over green undertones.
Then it turns. The heart is earthy and grounding, and it is where the fragrance spends most of its time. Woody and balsamic notes close it out.
The turn is the whole point
Most fragrances change gradually. This one changes early and decisively, usually inside the first half hour, and the version you wear for the rest of the day is not the version you smelled on the card.
That is a problem for how people buy perfume. Citrus is the most volatile thing in any formula, so a bright opening is the part guaranteed not to last, and judging this on the first ten minutes tells you about ten minutes of it.
If the earthy heart is not for you, no amount of liking the opening will fix that. It is worth knowing before you spend, which is the argument for wearing a sample for a full day rather than deciding at a counter.
Wearing it
It sits close to the skin and lasts better than the opening suggests. Spring and autumn suit it best. It is the most unisex thing we make, for whatever that is worth as a description.
It also takes heat well, because the part that would turn sour in warm weather has already burned off by the time you are out of the house.
Wear it for a full day and pay attention at hour six. That is the part you will live with.
