    The short version

    HOUSE OF ZIGGIMAY is a Danish perfume house. Sigurd Rossel trained at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery and composes, bottles and ships everything himself from Kongens Lyngby, just north of Copenhagen. Five fragrances, in 30 ml and 50 ml. The first went on sale in 2024.

    The longer version

    HOUSE OF ZIGGIMAY makes perfume in small batches in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark. Sigurd Rossel founded it after a long interest in fragrance turned into the work itself, and trained at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery rather than learning by guesswork. He works mostly with wood and oud, with florals threaded through them, and favours linear compositions: scents that hold their shape rather than turning into something else an hour in.

    The reference points are Nordic, which is where the names come from and part of why these sit closer to the skin than the category usually allows. Nothing is made for men or for women. Every bottle is white crystal glass with a black ash cap, and every batch is checked by the person who blended it before it goes out.

    The five

    Luminous Petal Tea. Built around Earl Grey. Herbs and citrus to open, herbal spice and musk through the middle, vanilla and moss at the base. Bright, but not sweet.

    White Tea Del Mar. Bright and coastal. Citrus and florals to open, jasmine, lavender and sea breeze through the middle, wood and musk at the base. The one to reach for in warm weather.

    Verdant Zen Brew. Green and garden like. Citrus and a little spice to open, then it turns earthy and stays there. Quiet, and longer lasting than the opening suggests.

    Grasgróinn. Green and clean, with warmth underneath. Spice and cut grass to open, settling into ozone, jasmine and musk, and finishing on vanilla and soft wood. It wears close rather than loud.

    Oud Absolu. The dark one. Bergamot and iris over wood to open, citrus and ylang ylang through the middle, oud and sweet wood at the base. The heaviest thing we make and the one that lasts longest.

    What we can send you

    Photography of the bottles, the caps and the boxes, at print resolution, with nothing in frame that is not ours. Samples for review, posted the day you ask. The perfumer, for an interview or for questions about how a particular composition was built, which is usually a better piece than a press release.

    We do not have an agency and we do not send unsolicited kits. Write and say what you are working on and you will be answered by the person who makes the perfume.

    Where you can smell them

    The Discovery Box is the honest answer: five 1.5 ml samples, one of each fragrance, for 295 DKK, which is the only way to judge a scent that anyone should trust. Reading about a perfume tells you almost nothing about how it sits on you.

    We are talking to shops in Copenhagen about carrying the range so there is somewhere to try them in person. When that is settled this page will say where.

    Stocking the range

    If you run a shop and want to carry these, the terms and the lead times are on the trade page rather than here, because they depend on what you want and how often. There is no distributor between your shelf and the bench these were blended on.

    Using the name

    The house is written HOUSE OF ZIGGIMAY, in capitals, in running text as well as in headlines. Not in title case, and not shortened to the second word on its own. The perfumer is Sigurd Rossel. Grasgróinn keeps its accent.
